IP pool FAQs

What is an IP pool?

An IP pool groups dedicated IPs from the same region so you can assign them together to one or more subaccounts. Use pools to separate traffic, such as marketing and transactional traffic.

How many IPs can a pool contain?

A pool can contain up to 100 IPs and must contain at least one IP.

Can I delete a pool assigned to subaccounts?

No. You cannot delete a pool after you create it.

How do I assign a pool to a subaccount?

Open the three-dot menu next to the pool, select Assign subaccount, choose up to 10 subaccounts, and save your changes.

Can I assign more than one pool to a subaccount?

Yes. A subaccount can have multiple assigned pools.

What happens if I remove all IPs from a pool?

You cannot remove all IPs. Every pool must contain at least one IP.

Reverse DNS

View the reverse DNS (rDNS) configuration for each dedicated IP. Use the Days, Status, and Region filters to narrow the list. Click CREATE RDNS to configure a new rDNS record.

ColumnDescription
StatusThe rDNS verification status, such as Pending.
IP AddressThe dedicated IP associated with the rDNS record.
RegionThe region where Netcore provisioned the IP.
Domain / RDNSThe domain mapped to the IP as its rDNS hostname.
Assigned UsersThe number of users assigned to the domain. Click the number to view them. A dash indicates that none are assigned.
ActionsOpens the edit (pencil) icon for the IP.

Edit rDNS

Click the edit icon next to an IP to open the Edit RDNS panel. Click EXPORT DNS at any point to download the displayed DNS records.

  1. Review the current PTR record. The panel displays the IP address, its current PTR (rDNS) value, and its region.
  2. Select a sending domain. Choose an approved sending domain. Netcore generates the subdomain and displays the resulting hostname. For example, Netcore generates d180-141-smtp-out-us.test98.cpaasqa.site for the sending domain cpaasqa.site. You cannot enter a custom subdomain or reassign the IP address in this panel.
  3. Add the A record at your DNS provider. The panel shows the hostname, record type, and IP address to publish. Netcore starts PTR configuration after you publish the A record.
  4. Click SAVE to confirm the change, or CLOSE to exit without saving.

Dedicated IP FAQs

What is reverse DNS (rDNS), and why do I need it?

Reverse DNS (a PTR record) maps an IP address to a hostname. It confirms to mailbox providers that your sending infrastructure is legitimate and is required for every dedicated IP.

Which domains can I use for my rDNS hostname?

Use only sending domains that are approved and verified on your account. You cannot use an unverified domain.

Can I use a subdomain as my rDNS hostname?

No. Select a sending domain, and Netcore generates the subdomain prefix.

What happens after I change an IP's rDNS?

Netcore must reverify the PTR record. The IP shows Processing until the new record is confirmed, so schedule the change during a low-risk window.

How do I add DNS records at my provider?

Click EXPORT DNS to download the displayed A records. Add each record at your DNS provider and point the hostname to its listed IP address.

How long does PTR verification take?

PTR verification can take up to 12 hours after your A record is verified. The system checks automatically.

What is a primary delivery IP?

A primary IP is used automatically for the master account and newly created subaccounts. You can mark more than one IP as primary. If you do not set a primary IP, delivery uses Netcore shared IPs.

How does auto-warmup work?

Auto-warmup gradually increases sending volume on a new IP based on delivery signals. It helps build sender reputation with mailbox providers and is enabled by default for new dedicated IPs.

Can I turn auto-warmup back on after disabling it?

No. Disabling auto-warmup is permanent for that IP in the UI. Disable it only if you have your own warm-up plan.

How do I assign an IP to a subaccount or pool?

Open the three-dot menu next to the IP, select Manage IP, then select the Subaccounts or IP Pool tab. Select up to 10 subaccounts or 25 pools, then save your changes.

What happens when I assign a dedicated IP to a subaccount that uses shared IPs?

Netcore removes the subaccount's shared IPs and replaces them with the dedicated IPs you assign. This immediately changes its sending infrastructure, so plan the migration carefully.

How do I check an IP's delivery performance?

Go to Insights > IP Insights, select the IP and date range, then review delivery, bounce, complaint, spam-score, health-score, and blacklist data.

IP requests FAQs

What are the stages of an IP request?

An IP request moves through Under Approval, Approved (verify A record), Awaiting PTR, and Accepted. Rejected requests display a reason instead.

What happens after I submit a request?

You accept recurring billing in the app when you submit the request. Netcore reviews the request, then sends a receipt email and a separate approval email if the request is approved.

How do I verify my A record?

On the approved request, click Verify A record. Add the listed A records at your DNS provider, then return to confirm them. Click Reverify if a record has not propagated.

How long does PTR setup take?

PTR setup can take up to 12 hours after your A record is verified. This process runs automatically.

Why was my request declined?

The request page displays the reason for a declined request. Contact your account manager if you need more detail.

Can I submit a new request after a decline?

Yes. Submit a new request from the same page at any time.
