Domain Verification Checks
Overview
Domain Verification Checks is an automated feature in the Netcore CPaaS dashboard that validates every new client domain before it becomes active. It runs five sequential checks and gives each domain a clear verdict: Verified or Domain not suitable.
The checks start automatically once the domain's DNS settings are confirmed. You do not need to trigger them manually.
The entire verification process completes within 30 seconds.
If any single check fails, the process stops immediately and reports the specific reason.
How It Works
Domain Verification Checks follows a sequential, all-or-nothing logic:
- The system runs checks 1 through 5 in order.
- Each check must pass before the next one runs.
- If a check fails, the domain is immediately marked as Domain not suitable and the remaining checks are skipped.
- If all five checks pass, the domain is marked as Verified.
Possible Outcomes
| Result | Dashboard Status | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| All checks pass | Verified | Domain is approved and ready to use. |
| Any check fails | Domain not suitable | Domain is rejected. The dashboard shows which check failed and why. |
The Five Verification Checks
| # | Check Name | What It Verifies |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Domain Age & Online Presence | Domain is at least 90 days old and live over HTTPS. |
| 2 | Domain Redirection | Domain does not redirect to a different, unaffiliated domain. |
| 3 | Approved Subdomain & DNS Health | Subdomain's parent is on Netcore's approved list; valid NS records exist. |
| 4 | Spam Listing | Domain's IP address is not on any major spam blacklist. |
| 5 | Public Contact Information | Domain's homepage has a discoverable contact page or email address. |
Viewing Results in the Dashboard
After the checks complete, the domain's status updates automatically. To view results:
- Go to your domain list in the Netcore CPaaS dashboard.
- Find the domain and check its Status column. The statuses present are: Active, Domain not approved, Autnentication pending, Under approval,
- Click the domain row to open the detail view. For Domain not suitable domains, you can see exactly which check failed and the reason.
Every check's individual result is logged for auditing. This helps you diagnose issues and discuss them with the Netcore support team.
What to Do If a Domain Fails
Review the failed check and address the root cause:
| Failed Check | Recommended Action |
|---|---|
| Domain Age & Online Presence | Wait until the domain is at least 90 days old and confirm the website is live. Check that your server returns a 2xx or 3xx HTTP response. |
| Domain Redirection | Update your domain configuration so it does not redirect to an unaffiliated domain. Subdomain-to-root-domain redirects on the same domain are fine. |
| Approved Subdomain & DNS Health | If using a subdomain, ensure the parent domain is on Netcore's approved list. Contact support if you need it added. Also verify your NS records are correctly configured with your DNS provider. |
| Spam Listing | Contact your hosting or IP provider to investigate and resolve the blacklisting. Once de-listed, re-trigger domain verification from the dashboard. |
| Public Contact Information | Add a "Contact Us" page or a visible email address to your homepage. Ensure it is accessible without login. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to start the verification manually?
No. Verification starts automatically once the domain's DNS settings are confirmed.
How long does verification take?
The entire process completes within 30 seconds.
Can I re-verify a domain after fixing an issue?
Yes. After resolving the issue, re-trigger verification from the domain's detail view in the dashboard.
What if the check fails due to a temporary issue (e.g., server downtime)?
Fix the underlying issue first, then re-trigger verification. The system checks the domain's live state at the time of verification.
Can a domain pass some checks and fail others?
The checks run sequentially and stop at the first failure. The dashboard shows which specific check failed so you know exactly what to fix.
What is the Approved Client List for subdomains?
It is an internal list of parent domains that Netcore has already verified and approved. If your subdomain's parent is not on this list, contact Netcore support to have it reviewed and added.
